Steve, our boxing coach embodies a fervent dedication to the sport, embracing not just the physical challenges of boxing but also its capacity to ignite personal growth and community connection. With roots in Hawley Ameteur Boxing Club and affliated with England Boxing, our coach brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for empowering individuals through tailored training experiences.

Jody is a 200-hour qualified Yoga Teacher and Personal Trainer. Her classes offer a blend of mindful movement, breathwork, and gentle relaxation, creating a space where you can build strength, mobility, and a deeper connection to your body. Whether you’re brand new to yoga or looking to deepen your practice, Jody’s grounded and supportive teaching style encourages ease, confidence, and awareness both on and off the mat

Do I need to be flexible to do yoga?

No – yoga can help you develop your flexibility, but there is no prerequiste to be able to practice yoga; other then having a breathing body. Here at BodhiBox our experienced teachers will support you as an individual to practice in a safe and supportive environment

Do I need a yoga mat?

No – we have yoga mats, blocks, bricks, belts, bolsters, blankets and eye pillows to support you through your practice with us. Of coure if you have your own you are very welcome to bring them with you

Do I need boxing gloves?

If you have your own great, however we have gloves you can borrow. You will need to use hand wraps this is to ensure good hygiene and to protect your hands and wrists. We have some to purchase for £10 if you do not have any handwraps or you forget them on the day

What size gloves should I use?

For general training bag work and pad work a 10oz or 12oz glove would be suitable. We have both 10oz and 12oz available to borrow

Why are hand wraps mandatory?

This is to ensure good hygiene, but mainly to protect your hands and wrists whilst training. If you need help wrapping your hands out BodhiBox coaches will be able to help.

Do you have a boxing ring?

We have a 8ft training ring, which our coaches use to deliver training for example pad work and foot work

Can I spar at BodhiBox?

NO – BodhiBox is a training and coaching facility and not an England Boxing affliated club. Individuals with an interest in sparring can speak to one of our coaches who can help you find an appropriate club

Can I cancel my booking?

Yes; we understand that life can be unpredictable, and sometimes plans change unexpectedly. We ask that you provide at least two hours notice if you need to cancel your class. If you cancel less than two hours before your class or fail to attend, your credit will unfortunately be forfeited.
